Waari's story begins in 1983 in Poona, where a young Maruti Musmade embarked on a journey that would transform how people experienced travel. His appointment in the Indian Railways sparked a passion for exploration, and with every new journey, his dream to innovate in the travel industry grew stronger. This marked the beginning of a legacy dedicated to creating meaningful travel experiences.
In 1994, Maruti turned his passion into action, moving from railroads to roadmaps. He began organizing small but heartfelt tours for friends and family, curating personalized experiences that celebrated India's cultural diversity. These intimate beginnings helped him hone his skills and establish a foundation for the transformative journeys that would follow.
In 2004, Maruti Musmade, with the unwavering support of his wife Shivkanya, founded Balaji Travels. The venture began with a landmark 13-day group tour from Agra to Vaishno Devi for 40 travelers, which was a resounding success. This marked the beginning of Balaji Travels' legacy as a trusted name in group travel, creating unforgettable journeys across India while establishing a reputation for exceptional service and attention to detail.
By 2012, with nearly a decade of experience, Maruti decided to take the leap into full-time entrepreneurship and launched Adinath Holidays. This new venture expanded its offerings, providing not only group tours but also tailor-made journeys that catered to individual needs. Adinath Holidays became a comprehensive travel service provider, offering end-to-end support, including passport, visa, and flight booking services.
In 2014, Adinath Holidays took its first steps onto the global stage with an inaugural international tour to Dubai. The success of this trip set the stage for more global adventures, including destinations like Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal, and Central Asia. This milestone marked the beginning of Waari's commitment to connecting travelers with cultures beyond borders, offering immersive global experiences.
Between 2014 and 2017, Adinath Holidays became synonymous with excellence in travel. Known for crafting detailed itineraries and providing worry-free journeys, the company was praised for its ability to deliver seamless experiences. Travelers enjoyed unmatched service that allowed them to focus on creating memories while every detail was taken care of with precision. This era cemented the brand's reputation as a trusted name in the travel industry.
The global pause brought by the Covid-19 pandemic became a time for reflection and reinvention. Inspired by the 700-year-old Pandharpur Vari—a spiritual pilgrimage that celebrates unity, devotion, and harmony—Maruti and Rishikesh envisioned Waari. The name reflects the spirit of journeys that go beyond destinations, celebrating connections and shared experiences. This marked a new chapter for the brand, building on decades of expertise to create a platform that redefines travel.
On World Tourism Day, September 27, 2022, Waari was officially launched. Rooted in the principles of innovation, transparency, comfort, support, and authenticity, Waari is designed to create journeys that inspire.
